Not a Fan

April 11, 2012

Are you a fan or a follower of Jesus? We will be asking some tough questions, studying some of Jesus tougher words, and taking a look at what it means to be a follower of Jesus.  Grace is free, but the cross is costly, this is the main principle we will be looking at.  This series will be taught in both Modified and The Flood.

Questions for home:

1) What was tonight’s talk about?

3) What can you do this week to move closer in your walk as you follow Jesus?

4) How can we as a family encourage you in this?

Happy Easter!

Please enjoy the Easter holiday with your family!  We will have a Good Friday service Friday April 6th at 7pm and an Easter service Sunday April 8th at 10am.

Just a reminder for students going to Statewide with us this weekend:

- We leave Friday at 7pm from SLCC

- We will return Sunday around noon

- Bring money for 3 meals

- No video game systems allowed please.  Ipods etc. are allowed but not in the worship area.

CHRISTMAS BREAK

December 15, 2010

In order to allow the most time for students to spend with family and to give our volunteers a well deserved break, there will be NO FLOOD on Dec 22nd and Dec 29th and NO MODIFIED on Dec 26th and Jan 1st.  Have a Merry Christmas!

CHURCH-WIDE TAILGATE PARTY!

September 13, 2010

Both The Flood and Modified will have a truck decorated for this Sunday’s Fall Tailgate Cook off!  Along with hanging out and eating lots of chili, we will be playing football and having a bonfire.  This will be a great all-ages, church-wide event.

This Sunday being Memorial Day Weekend, we will not be meeting for our regular worship and teaching but will instead be playing some touch football outside for those of us around for the holiday weekend.  Please dress for football and be in the yard behind the farmhouse at 7pm and get ready for some football!

Brad Hawes from MSU His House Christian Fellowship is going to guest speak at Modified this Sunday May 16th.  Brad is going to come and share a message about the importance of personal faith and Christian Fellowship after High School.  Whether you are planning on someday attending MSU, LCC, Great Lakes, another college or entering the workforce after High School you will not want to miss this Modified!   Also, Brad is a big football fan, so we will probably be playing some football after the message!

Just a reminder that the permission forms for our high school CIY MOVE trip and a non-refundable $100 down payment are due this Sunday.  Originally we had asked that all $300 be paid this week, but due to financial situations we are asking that at least a $100 down payment be made.  If you have lost your permission form (which we have had available since February!) more are available.

I cannot wait for this summer’s CIY MOVE!  The things they have planned are so epic, I am counting down the days!

We have begun a new teaching series titled “BE AN EXAMPLE”.  This series is taking a look at 1 Timothy 4:12 with a challenge to our students that they can be an example and a leader for Christ no matter how young they are.  The challenge is to be an example in life, love, faith, and purity.

Some follow-up questions parents can ask at home are:

1) Which part of 1 Timothy 4:12 did you study tonight?  (life, love, faith, purity)

2) In what ways were you an example of your faith at school this week?

3) In what ways were you an example of your faith at home this week?

4) How can we as a family be a better example of Christian life, love, faith, and purity?
